The new BMW M3 and BMW M4 have officially debuted. Because of BMW's new grille design, they have to be the most talked about models in BMW history.
Leaving this controversy behind, there's a lot to like about the next-generation BMW M3 and BMW M4.

BMW M3 and BMW M4: engine and chassis
Both cars are powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which is available in two variants. a standard model and a competitive model. The former develops 480 hp, the latter 510 hp.
In the BMW M3 Sedan, the sprint times of 100 km / h are 4.2 seconds and 3.9 seconds respectively. The M4 Coupé manages the same statistics.
Customers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed M-Steptronic transmission. BMW plans to bring out a version with all-wheel drive xDrive in summer 2021.
xDrive models receive an Active M differential setup with rear-wheel drive and three selectable modes: 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD.
The suspension is adaptive with electronically controlled shock absorbers and M Servotronic steering. There is a new integrated braking system with two settings for pedal feel and response. M compound brakes are standard, M carbon ceramic brakes are optional.
The dynamic stability control (DSC) comprises a dynamic M mode and, for the first time, an integrated wheel slip limitation and an M traction control that can be set over ten levels.
BMW M3 and BMW M4: Design
Both models have different designs. First the most obvious feature, the new frameless kidney grille. It has horizontal bars as opposed to the traditional vertical versions.
Typical BMW wheel arch extensions give both vehicles the M-Car look in addition to M-gills, side skirt extensions and new front and rear aprons.
Both BMW M3 and BMW M4 Get a carbon fiber roof with aerodynamically optimized slats. There is a small rear spoiler and a familiar quad tailpipe. BMW offers a range of new, exclusive exterior paintwork as well as an M carbon exterior package and BMW M Performance Parts as options.
BMW M3 and BMW M4: interior
The interior of BMW is an improved version of the 4 series We saw interiors a few months ago. Both vehicles come standard with BMW Live Cockpit Professional with fully digital display grouping, BMW Maps navigation system and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.
There is a significantly expanded selection of driver assistance systems. Park Distance Control, Front Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning and Speed Limit Info are standard. The options include the Driver Assistant Professional with steering and lane control assistant, active navigation, the emergency lane assistant, the parking assistant with reversing assistant, the BMW Drive Recorder and the BMW Head-Up Display with M-specific displays.
There is an M-specific control / operating concept with a setup button for direct access to the settings for the engine, chassis, steering and braking system. The two M-buttons mounted on the steering wheel return.
There is also a choice of seat designs. This includes a newly developed M sports seat with fine-grain merino leather and an impressive new M carbon bucket seat, which is shown here in the BMW M4.
