Toyota launched the Urban Cruiser compact SUV in India. Toyota offers the Urban Cruiser in three variants, as already speculated. The price is between INR 8.4 lakh and INR 11.3 lakh. For TKM, Urban Cruiser is a new addition to his family and, compared to other Toyota SUVs, also the smallest SUV. The sub-compact SUV Urban Cruiser is Toyota's second offshoot of a Maruti car. The first is the Baleno hatchback, which is sold as the Glanza in the Indian market.
Variants and prices
The Urban Cruiser is available in three versions, namely mid-grade, high-grade and premium-grade. All variants are available with manual or automatic transmission. Here is the detailed price list of the Urban Cruiser:
Outside
In contrast to Glanza, which looks almost like a double of the Baleno, the Urban Cruiser has some changes compared to the Brezza. This will help Toyota place the Urban Cruiser as a separate offering rather than a Brezza spin-off. The Urban Cruiser's bezel features a wedge-cut, two-louvred grille with chrome inserts and a trapezoidal fog lamp area that many believe is very similar to older Toyota SUVs like the Fortuner. It is also accompanied by dual-chamber LED projector lights with dual-function LED DRL cum indicators and LED fog lights. Customers also have the option of using 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
The Urban Cruiser will have 6 monotonous color options - blue, brown, white, orange, silver and gray as well as three two-tone colors - blue / black, brown / black and orange / white.
Inner
The interior of the Urban Cruiser is two-tone dark brown. The main features of the SUV Urban Cruiser include push start and stop, automatic climate control, which is standard in all variants, a Smart Play Cast touchscreen, windshield wipers with rain sensor, cruise control and an electrochromic rearview mirror.
Powertrain
The Toyota Urban Cruiser will be equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol 4-cylinder engine with a 5-speed manual transmission, as well as an automatic transmission that delivers a satisfactory 103 hp and 138 Nm of torque. The company claims it has a decent 17 km / h mileage on roads. All AT variants will be equipped with an advanced Li-Ion battery with Suzuki's mild hybrid technology, which includes an ISG-integrated starter generator (torque assistant, regenerative braking and start-stop when idling).
Other details
The compact SUV can compete not only with its looks, but also with several other compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport and the brand new Kia Sonet. This list also features the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger, both of which share the same platform and engine but, unlike the Brezza and Urban Cruiser, do not have as many parts in common.
The bookings for the Urban Cruiser have already started. To further increase customer satisfaction, the new Toyota Urban Cruiser is combined with the familiar Toyota experience, paired with a superior warranty of 3 years or 1 lakh km, whichever is earlier. The Urban Cruiser also offers some exciting benefits such as express service, extended warranty and other convenience services such as WhatsApp communication. Delivery of the Urban Cruiser will begin in mid-October.
